Costa Rica offers visitors a wide variety of attractions that go from naturalistic tours to visits to cultural locations, which give tourists the opportunity to learn more about Costa Rica and its cultural development throughout the time. Some of the historical buildings and museums are the national theater, the statue of the drummer boy (Costa Rica’s national hero), the world famous “basilica de los Angeles” church, the gold museum, and many others. These tours will take your trip to Costa Rica to another level since you will not only have breath taking pictures but a great knowledge about Costa Rica and its constant interaction with the progress of Latin America.
Visit the national theater
The National Theater is certainly one of our most accomplished architectural structures in Costa Rica. The National Theater’s Construction began in 1891, and it opened to the public on October 21, 1897 (http://www.teatronacional.go.cr/ ). Since then the theater has been exclusively reserved for world class performances of recognized acting companies, opera singers, bands, orchestras , and artistic organizations from all over the world. The National Theater has hosted artists from France, Spain, Italy, Russia, Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Puerto Rico, and numerous others.
Visit the statue of the drummer boy (Juan Santamaria, Costa Rica’s national hero)
Juan Santamaria was established as Costa Rica’s national hero after he defended Costa Rica’s territory in the civil war against the filibusters which was held in Rivas, Nicaragua on April 11, 1856. This Heroic Costa Rican soldier has been honored through National anthems, statues, museums, and the international airport is even named after him (International Airport Juan Santamaria). We provide escorted tours that show you the statue of our national hero, which is located in the providence of Alajuela; tours include a bilingual guide, transportation to your hotel-destination-hotel, lunch, or dinner and an enjoyable learning experience for the whole family.
Visit ancient building ruins
Costa Rica is full of pre-Colombian history, historic buildings, and eye-catching ruins. Costa Rica was discovered by the Spanish explorer Christopher Columbus on September 18, 1502. Back in the 1500’s a lot of churches were built as Catholicism was being introduced to Costa Rica’s habitants. As a result, many ruins and historic buildings can be found all over Costa Rica’s territory. You can go on tours to visit and see many of these sculptural monuments.
